I really like the yellow tires, I got a lot of nice comments about how cool this Takara Kabuto was. Assembly was easy (first time I did it) and a bike store tuned the handle bar for me. Rides great, and was affordable for me.

I bought Takara Kabuto because I wanted a simple and cheap fixie to get around town. Takara Kabuto was pretty much a steal. I get regular compliments on the bike with people assuming I spent over $500 on it. Aesthetically it looks sharp and after having my local bike shop tune it up nicely, it is an amazing ride.

The gear ratio is perfect allowing you to get up moderate hills yet allows for decent speeds when fixed pedaling. My only real complaint is that the Takara Kabuto is very heavy. One reason I looked into a fixie is for simplicity and weight but this thing is a brick. I can deal with it but just be aware it's not the lightest bike in the world. I also would prefer the brakes be on the upper handlebars rather than the forward ones as I never use them but that's just me nit-picking at this point.

Some Takara Kabuto Reviewers are unhappy with the brakes. As I have said above, this is my first jump into road biking and so perhaps it is because I don't know any different, but I have found the Takara Kabuto brakes to be perfectly capable of stopping me whenever I have needed.

I have had to stop very quickly (a deer ran right in front of me the other day) and much of the terrain I cycle on has very steep hills. I got Takara Kabuto today and proceeded to put it together obviously...took it to the fuel station, filled up the tires, tightened the handle bar knot and went for a ride. I was very impressed by the coasting speed even when moving on a completely flat road and going downhill was just pure awesomeness.

With that said, i'll also like to point out that the brakes need to be adjusted before you take this thing for a ride especially when you are gonna be riding on a busy road. Also, one other thing to consider is that the Takara Kabuto Bike is heavy and that makes going up a steep grade very difficult.

I won't try it unless one is actually building their fitness. The yellow grip tape was already getting some stain on it while i was assembling the bike so i plan on getting a black tape sometime in the future. Same with other Takara Kabuto Reviewers, I received compliments on the first day of riding it and many people couldn't believe how much I paid for it. All in all, it's feels like a great bike that will last for a while until I can afford something much better.
